The Revilla family is notable in the Philippines due to the family patriarch Don Ramon having fathered around 81 children with at least 16 women and him and several in the family dabbling in show business and politics. In 2011, the family became the subject of newspaper headlines once again due to the murder of Ramgen Revilla, one of Don Ramon’s many children, with two of the victim’s siblings as the alleged masterminds of the crime.
